Markets are essential to daily life in Mumbai, and your guide offers insightful commentary throughout your 2-hour afternoon walking tour. Starting out from the Regal Cinema in Colaba, your first stop is Crawford Market, popular with locals for its household items and wholesale goods such as vegetables and meat.
The market, founded in 1871, features Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles that define South Mumbai. In addition to imported cheese and homemade chocolate, you’ll also find sales of exotic animals. (Please be advised that some endangered animal sales take place at Crawford Market.)
Head into the chaos of Kalbadevi and Bhuleshwar bazaars, and take in the sights and smells of India’s spices as you sip a complimentary cup of tea or a soft drink. Then stop by the indoor Mangaldas Market, established in 1893, where some of India’s most famous fashion designers purchase fabric for their creations.
Marvel at its 100 shops of vivid cloth before a visit to Mumbadevi Temple. In this oasis away from the bustling streets, learn about India's most practiced religion as Hindu priests bestow blessings called prasad upon their devotees.
Next up is a stroll through Mumbai’s flower alley, famous for nearly a century for its saffron-colored marigolds and red rose garlands. The final stop on your walking tour is Bombay Panjrapole, which shelters more than 350 cows and other stray animals right in the middle of the city. To increase their karma, local people shelter and feed the cows, considered sacred to Hindus.
Your tour concludes at Madhav Baug in Bhuleshwar.

This tour came alive because of the guides. I suppose we could have walked the same streets on our own, but we would have missed so much. This way, with two guides and only a few people in our party, meant that we could stop, ask questions and generally move at our pace but with knowledgeable and entertaining guides all the way. The guides even helped one of our party 'negotiate' the purchase of some local clothing. Well Done.

Our guide was nice and friendly, we enjoyed our tour with him. We would recommend the tour as a chance to see the side streets, markets, and another side of Mumbai - we went down little streets that my husband and I would have never ventured to on our own. The only draw back was that our guided didn't have an in-depth understanding of the different religions in Mumbai and the architectural history of the sites we saw. He did give us a great sense of life in modern Mumbai and how to navigate the city on foot.

Our guide Biju met us at the Regal on time.We had a really excellent guided tour of the different markets -fruit/cloth/etc and the visit to the temple.We also visited the jewellery quarter.
Finally we finished with a visit to the cow sanctuary.

A great way to see Mumbai. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and took us to places we wouldn't have seen if he hadn't taken us. We got to see several different different markets, temples and even a cow shelter where we got to feed the cows.

We had this tour with Bipin Kumar/ reality tours. I have to tell you first of all that high percentage of the price goes to charity what they spend to improve adult education in the slums amongst other good causes. Bipin was a brilliant guide. What was outstanding that when local beggars followed us he was very respectful with them while made sure that we are not bothered and we have a lovely time. He is very knowledgable and pleasant to spend time with, his english is excellent. You are in for a treat if you book this tour, certainly won't be disappointed.
