We loved our private tour with Mitch (his English was superb, by the way). It was truly customized to our interests and we learned a lot about the city. We really appreciated how personalized the tour was -- including snacks/meals based on things we wanted to try. We also got to see some off-the-radar stuff that was really cool -- like a robot barista who made us pour-over coffee! I really recommend orienting yourself to the city with tour early in your visit and do the transit option (versus private transportation). It's not only cheaper, but the lesson on navigating the Tokyo train system is invaluable. Excellent experience all around!

This tour was exemplary- congratulations to Kazu our tour guide. A must for everyone on first day in Tokyo. You see the best sights, get advice from the tour guide on how to navigate the subway, learn about the culture, Kazu even helped us plan the rest of the week and booked us tickets. Kazu- great English speaking, knowledgeable, respectful, sincere guide who kept in touch by email to make sure we were ok for the rest of the week in Japan- congratulations Kazu and Viator- this is a must do tour!

My 13 year-old daughter and I were going to be in Tokyo for a week, so we spent our first full day on this tour so we could get an overview of the city. Our guide, Akemi, met us in the lobby of our hotel in Shinjuku, went over the plan for the day (we had chosen 4 areas of the city from a list the tour company had sent prior to arrival) and off we went. We chose the “public transfer” option, which meant taking the metro, and Akemi made navigating the sprawling system easy. The day was incredibly hot and humid (95 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity to match) but Akemi bought us waters as needed and even bought us cool handercheifs to deal with the perspiration. She also bought us tasty treats that seem to be everywhere in Tokyo and we had a great lunch of noodles and miso in Akhihabara. Akemi was the perfect guide. She let us set the pace for the day and gave us great tips for getting around
Tokyo. She gave us just the right mix of history and culture and had a good sense of humor. This tour was great. My daughter said it was her favorite part of the trip so far (we also took the Viator tour of Mt. Fuji and Hakone with bullet train (another good tour), went to Kabuki-za, saw the Lion King (in Japanese) at the Shiki theatre, went to a Tokyo Yakult Swallows baseball game, and went to Shibuya several times, so that is saying a lot!). We highly recommend this tour and Akemi!

This was an amazing tour - our goal was to go on an adventure so we left a spot open for our guide to pick. During the tour we had interesting conversations and ended up going to places we hadn't even thought of. He was amazing and definitely made the experience.

Kim was an excellent guide through the highlights of Tokyo in a day. We used all public transportation and walking to avoid traffic so we were able to explore many different parts of the city in one day. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke beautiful English as she was born and educated in the USA.

Excellent tour. My tour guide was very knowledgeable about the city, and very open to setting a schedule that I would enjoy. Great communication ahead of my trip. She provided a range of options and I told her what I found most interesting. In the end, the day was really fantastic and we saw a lot. It was great having someone there that could answer my questions is realtime. Nice way to see the city.
