After pickup from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu, be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sandakan (flight surcharge subject to change, please see Additional Info for more details).
Upon arrival, be taken to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center, the largest and oldest of its kind on earth where a dedicated team of professionals work tirelessly to assist orphaned, abandoned or abused Orangutans to learn the survival skills they need to return to their natural habitat - the teeming jungles of Borneo.

Had a great day the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the centre. No orangutans at the feeding platform but did see one in the sunbear enclosure . There were also 2 that wandered from the glass feeding area so we also saw them close up. Lunch was great- typical Malaysian food.

Firstly, know that you have to book additional domestic flights from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan that's not included in the package. You will receive an email after booking the tour of the suggested times and the day will start at 4-5 AM due to the pick-up. But from your hotel at KK, the tour is very organised and makes sure you're delivered to each point.
At the orangutan center, know that it is never guaranteed that you will see orangutans because it is a sanctuary in the WILD. You will see them in the nursery center behind a glass and also at the feeding platform if you're lucky. Our tour guide then took us to see Sun Bears at the center next to it Around 30 MYR at your own cost which you might as well since you flew all the way to Sandakan...
During lunch we were brought to an English tea house to have English food by the sea good restaurant and great views. Our tour guide then took us on a local city tour around Sandakan and he was very knowledgable and interesting, teaching us of local culture and history. We were very lucky to have had Omar as our tour guide - he got along with everyone very well and kept us entertained with all his intelligence! Thank you so much Omar for such a great day at Sandakan!

The full day tour was great, Bennie met us in the morning at the centre, she made sure that we had great seats for the young OrangUtans,
after their feeding we went to another feeding platform, not as many this time but other monkeys. The sun bear sanctuary was good too. After we had a wonderful lunch and a couple of beers, with another couple. We then did the city tour quite interesting. Bennie was so knowledgeable. The Day was wonderful. Massive storm after dropped off, the flight was delayed 5 hours. We can't control the weather:

Fantastic we seen a Orang Utan in its natural environment.Had a very good and passionate Guide who showed us more around Sadakan including the must see Australian War Memorial gardens and the start of the Death March. He also took us to the floating Village to see how they live which I thought was interesting. To top it off we had lunch in a beautiful English Tea Garden over looking the City.Only poor points a long day from Kota Kinabalu, and not many Orang Utans to see as in their natural environment and do not come out as much.

Amazing guide, organised and bespoke. There was flexibility in the activities, the guide was very informative and genuinely cared about conservation and his country. We had a lovely lunch and city tour.
Can not recommend highly enough and Rusli is a real asset to the company. Amazing day.

Great guide, but the tour description is misleading - you only spend around 3 hours in the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary, the remaining time is split between lunch at 'English Tea House' (which is picturesque but the food is quite bad) and a tour of Sandakan City that was quite boring.

Had to get up early for our flight to Sandakan but seeing the orang utans at Sepilok was worth the effort. If you are doing this tour from Kota Kinabalu I would suggest you fly Air Asia. We had booked our return flight with Malaysia Airlines and when we got to the airport we found out that our flight was delayed by more 2 hrs with no real explanation. Also would have liked to have had more time at the Rehabilitation Cente but I would still recommend taking this tour.

This is undoubtedly a fantastic way to get pretty up class and personal with the orangutans. Just fantastic. Highlight was two of these gorgeous creatures walking past us in the car park holding hands!
However, I noticed that the entry to the park was 30 Ringgit about 6. I also had to purchase my flights to and from Sandakan from KK separately for another 65.
Lunch at The English Tea Rooms was great, our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable....but 220 altogether???? I'd LOVE to know where this money goes??
I would advise a DIY tour, which skips out the city tour, as it's pretty grim, and return on the 2pm ish flight
