Day 1: ManilaStart with pickup from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport and transfer to your hotel, where you can relax in a standard studio or deluxe room, depending on your selection. Let your guide know whether you prefer a morning or afternoon departure for your half-day sightseeing tour.
After pickup from your hotel at your selected time, embark on a fully guided private tour by air-conditioned car, traveling first through the City of Makati, the country’s financial center and a part of metropolitan Manila.
Drive along Ayala Boulevard, stopping briefly at Nielson Tower, home to the Filipinas Heritage Library. Then continue past Forbes Park, an exclusive residential enclave dubbed ‘Millionaires’ Row,’ on your way to visit the American Cemetery and War Memorial to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers of World War II.
Pass through Luneta (also called Rizal Park) en route to Old Manila via the scenic Roxas Boulevard. Upon arrival in the ancient fortified area of Intramuros, located in the city’s oldest district, get out to stroll along cobblestone paths. View city walls, church ruins and other relics of the Spanish conquistadors era, and discover intricate Baroque architectural designs inside the UNESCO World Heritage listed San Agustin Church.
Finish at Fort Santiago, a Spanish fortress where Dr Jose Rizal, the country’s national hero, spent his last days in incarceration and wrote his famous poem ‘My Last Farewell.’ After hearing more commentary from your guide, you’re dropped off at your hotel.
