Make your own way to Marques de Pombal Square in central Lisbon, where an open-top sightseeing bus awaits. Find yourself a seat on the top deck or inside the covered lower deck, and flip through your included information booklet as you set off through the Portuguese capital’s winding streets.
Have your camera ready as you travel across the iconic April 25th Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) toward the Christ the King monument (Cristo Rei). From your vantage point above the Tagus River, take in Lisbon’s candy-colored buildings spread over the verdant hills that earned the city its moniker, ‘the City of the Seven Hills.’
Across the water, hop off the bus and, with your included entrance ticket, head inside the base of the monument, where you’ll board an express elevator waiting to whisk you up 269 feet (82 meters) to the viewing platform at the foot of Christ.
Be wowed by the panoramic views over Lisbon and the April 25th Bridge, and spend a few moments snapping photos before re-boarding the bus and returning the city center.

This is a Gray Line Tour that runs over the 25th of April Bridge, visits at the Christ the King Statue, and then heads back. It starts from the tour bus staging area at the Marques de Pombal roundabout.

The tour runs twice a day, once and 10:30 a.m. and once at 3:30 p.m. The ticket was 20 Euros.

I ordered my ticket online through Viator. As with a previous order, when I went to pick up my ticket prior to boarding, the attendant had to phone a number of some sort somewhere and read the voucher number off to someone, and only then could she print out my approved ticket. This took several minutes. It is obvious that Gray Line needs to upgrade its IT infrastructure, it is in need of improvement.

The bus is a full-sized open single-level one, painted white. This was a hot day, in the mid-30s. Our driver was congenial and helpful. There were not many passengers on this tour, perhaps six or seven.

There is no spoken or recorded guide. We headed directly out to the bridge. This is an impressive bridge, some 2200 metres long. There is a rail deck underneath as well. You can get a great view of the river and the city from the bridge.

After leaving the bridge, the bus winds its way up to the Christ the King statue. This is on a high bank, and is absolutely enormous to boot.

The price of admission was included in the tour price, which was good. There is an elevator that takes you to the top. To reach the observation deck one then climbs up some winding and rather narrow stairs.

The view from the top is quite spectacular with excellent views of Lisbon, the bridge, and the River Tagus.

We were there for about an hour and trooped on board the bus and headed back to Gray Line area at Marques de Pombal.

I thought this was a very enjoyable tour, even if not very long. Visiting the statue was very worthwhile, and going over the bridge was fun.

So go ahead and this, you will enjoy it.

Fun afternoon addition to trip to Lisbon. Not sure you couldn't get there on your own since the bus just took us from central Lisbon, over the bridge, and gave us our voucher. You still had to wait in line to exchange your voucher for a ticket to the top! But the views were fantastic!!!!! Looked over the river to see all of Lisbon.
