Meet your guide at your hotel and we’ll start exploring the city. Your first stop will be what is now the Palace of Parliament and in your full tour you will visit the huge marble halls generously decorated with works of art. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to admire an amazing rooftop view from the People’s House terrace.
Lunch will be served in one of Romania’s finest traditional restaurants (own expense).
You will enter the bohemian atmosphere of the city created by the old buildings, narrow streets and chic little cafes in the town’s old historical center. On your panoramic tour you will see the National Theatre, the Triumphal Arch, the House of the Free Press and you’ll pass through 3 very important squares: University Square, Victory Square and Revolution Square. Your last stop will be at the Village Museum, a place of tradition and one of the biggest outdoor museums in Europe designed in rural architecture.

The Palace of Parliament:
Also called the People’s House or the People’s Palace it combines Stalinist and Neoclassical architecture. This impressive construction was built during communist times and some people also refer to it as Ceausescu’s Palace, the famous Romanian dictator. It dominates in size, being the second largest building in the world according to the Guinness World Record Book after the Pentagon. The interior of the construction, structured in 21 bodies is also breathtaking because of the enormous and luxury halls and chambers.
The Village Museum:
Located in the heart of the city, in this outstanding outdoor museum you will find representatives from every region of the country consisting of traditionally furnished Romanian houses, churches, windmills and water mills. You will feel like you are in a real Romanian village when passing by the constructions built in the rural architecture style and animated by folk arts and crafts demonstrations.
University Square is the most important road junction of the capital being situated in the center of the city. The National Theatre, a baroque style building, is positioned in the close vicinity.
Victory Square is located at the intersection of important avenues. The most significant building located here is the headquarters of the Romanian Government.
Revolution Square is situated in the capital’s center and it was known as Palace Square until the 1989 Revolution against the communist regime. The National Museum of Art, the former Royal Palace, the Athenaeum and the Memorial of Rebirth are situated in this square.
