Experience the wonders of nature on a beautiful one day tour. Depart from Bucharest and head towards Prahova Valley, where we will first visit Ialomitei cave and the Monastery Pestera. After we will take a ride with the cable car and enjoy the view. Once we reach the top, at 7,516 feet (2,291 meters) altitude, we will walk all the way to the Sphinx and Babele.

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Mnstirea Petera Ialomiei

Depart from Bucharest and head towards Prahova Valley. This is the valley where the Prahova river makes its way between the Bucegi and the Baiu Mountains, in the Carpathian Mountains. Geographically, the Prahova river separates the Eastern Carpathians chain from the Southern Carpathians. Historically, the corridor was the most important passageway between the principalities of Wallachia and Transylvania.
Once you arrive in Busteni you will first visit one of the most popular caves from Romania - Ialomitei Cave and the Monastery Pestera located in National Park of Bucegi.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Bucegi Mountains, Sinaia, Prahova County, Southern Romania

After that you will ride the cable car up the mountain until you reach the beautiful Bucegi Plateau where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele. The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in a cave.

Great tour but with the unfortunate bad weather in the mountain.
However the tour guide made everything he could to show me other places and he was very detailed and knowledgeable.
Good english but at little bit pricey for what it was.

The only minor complain was that it took me until the very last day to get this tour confirmed, so I was freaking out a bit.
It ended up being good.

I combined this tour with my longer 7 day tour and it was amazing! Affordable, not over the top, the guide was professional, kind, went my pace and gave me useful information about Romania with respect to history, culture and the surroundings. There is nothing like being at the top of the Carpathian Mountains!
