Start your tour by leaving your centrally located accommodation and make the first stop in Snagov, one of the most important churches in the country due to its complex medieval paintings. Located on the Snagov Lake, the church was once part of a large monastery. According to the legend, Vlad the Impaler is buried here.

The next stop on your tour will be the monastery of Caldarusani, once an important cultural center of the region. The monastery has a splendid 17th century church and a small museum with old religious objects.

Stop for lunch (own expense) in the beautiful village of Cernica and continue on to visit the monastery of Cernica, a popular site on Sunday and other religious holidays. Located on the shores of a large lake, the monastery also has a very interesting cemetery, with old funeral sculptures.

The last stop of the itinerary is the monastery of Pasarea which impresses through its beautiful monastic village. The nuns live in private small houses surrounding the church, a rather unusual form of organization for an Orthodox monastery.
