After your cruise ship docks in St Petersburg, embark on a full-day shore excursion with a local guide. Your small-group tour by comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle begins with a peek at Vasilievsky Island. From here, catch sight of Old St Petersburg Stock Exchange, located at the Spit (Strelka), across from the Winter Palace.

Next, head to Nevsky Avenue, St Petersburg’s main road and one of most well-known streets in Russia. Your guide will point out the famous Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and other monuments of iconic Russian architecture.

Your guide will show your small group around Peter and Paul Fortress as well as the interior of its cathedral, which served as a burial place for Russian tsars for almost two centuries. Listen to commentary as you learn about St Petersburg’s fascinating history!

Following your 1.5-hour city tour, head to the State Hermitage Museum, once the residence of Russian tsars and today one of the world’s greatest museums, boasting more than 2.7 million exhibits and displays. Explore the galleries with your guide as you admire the impressive art collections.

After visiting souvenir shops in St Petersburg, enjoy an elegant lunch in one of the best Russian restaurants in the city center. In the afternoon, discover the spectacular imperial estate of Peterhof on a 2-hour tour of the famous palace and park complex located on the shores of the Neva River.

The Great Palace, filled with fascinating and elaborate interiors of former tsars, sits atop a high ridge overlooking the vast gardens. Peterhof’s unique array of fountains, considered some of the most beautiful in the world, has earned it the title of the 'Russian Versailles.' Your tour ends with transport back to the St Petersburg cruise port.

A must see! We had a great time. St. Petersburg was AWESOME! Lunch was not good at all. We ate the food just to be nice. Our tour guide Lydia did not even eat her food, BUT Lydia is very knowledgable, courteous and patient. Glad to have her as our tour guide. Thanks again Lydia!

Our guide, Lena, was exceptional!! She was very knowledgeable and very easy to understand. As we drove through the city, she explained what the buildings or statues were. She answered all of our questions without hesitation. She had a great sense of humor and knew how to get into most tour sites without a long wait!!
Our only complaint was our lunch! The tour description says: "enjoy a classic Russian lunch in an elegant restaurant". Well, the lunch was in a basement cafe and far from elegant. The main dish was served lukewarm. We had a salad, chicken and pasta, bread and a piece of cake, I felt that they were not prepared for us. And, we really expected something more classic. Our friends who took a tour through the cruise line said they went to a really nice restaurant and had an excellent lunch. We were very disappointed. Also, we realize it wasn't Lena's decision.
I used Viator for 3 tours in Paris last year and was very happy with them, which is why I suggested Viator to my friends for this trip. Just don't promise what you cannot deliver.

The tour was not as advertised, The tour according to our guide was only of the Hermitage Museum and Peterhof Palace with lunch .The write-up said we would tour Peter and Paul Fortress, have a 1.5 hour city tour and time to visit souvenir shops, none of which we did. The van that transported us was noisy(rattled) and the shocks in the rear end were non existent.
Our guide was very informative and knowledgable of Russian history and she was the saving grace of this trip.
Traffic congestion in St. Petersburg can be horrendous.
