A great day out.. learning about Russian history and seeing what this part of Russia's countryside looks like.. Guide and driver were lovely people and they looked after us like royalty...Well done we had a wonderful day!

Enjoyable day, however feel it is overpriced.

Our day didn't have the best start as we were surposed to be picked up at 7-30, got the hotel to ring at 7-45 to see if there was a problem and time was changed to 8am. The driver arrived at 8-15 and the guide arrived at 8-30, so we were now an hour late leaving. The driver then had to stop and get petrol before we left the city which was another 20 mins wasted. We then preceded to start the tour, by the time we were about 30 mins into the tour the guide was asleep and slept the whole way. What could have been an awesome tour was very rushed to the extend that we were told that we would only be able to order a cup of coffee for lunch as there wasn't enough time to eat......We insisted that it wasn't our fault that we were running late and so ordered a small meal. We still arrived back in St Petersburg by 5-30 Looking at the itinerary we now realise that we missed some of the places we were to visit.
therefor I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone if you get the same guide and driver we had.

The day was wonderful. The driver and guide were excellent. The trip to Novgorod was one of the highlights of my two week trip to Russia. I hope to use you guys again soon.

An excellent tour. Elena, our guide, gave us an in-depth understanding of Russian history and art. She took us to see the icon which had defended Novgorod during a siege and also an antique monastery by a lake outside the city.

A good way to see a slice of the 'real Russia' - lots of history in this city and my guide did a good job reviewing the highlights of Russian history.

It is a good option if you have extra time - but if you are short on time, there is more than enough to see in St. Petersburg itself...

We were v. impressed. Our guide, Elena, had extensive knowledge of Russian culture, history and religion, which she told us about during the journey + tour. Novgorod was a truly fascinating place - particularly the wooden architecture museum that gave glimpses into the origins. Definitely recommend.

The guide was good...knowledgeable and personable in general. However, she complained about the long drive to Novgorod which was somewhat dampening since we were excited to see countryside and the dachas.The driver on the other hand was terrible...they hired a cab and the driver drove too fast, got a speeding ticket and caused a fender-bender. If you have to use this tour company (it was the only option for Novgorod), be firm about a decent driver. Otherwise, use a different operator.

A closer understanding to what life used to be with wonderful church.

Fabulous trip - unfortunately due to the fact it is some distance from St Petersburg, there is a lot of driving there and back. We were fortunate to have a guide and driver to ourselves and we thought the trip very worthwhile, the place has a fascinating history and we spent a lot of time walking around the Kremlin and had the best lunch on our trip to Russia - our guide found it. Would recommend the trip.
