Itinerary

Day 1: Airport - Kandy

Stop At: Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province
Meet your guide upon landing at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo for your 5-day tour of Sri Lanka. Travel by private vehicle to Kandy. Explore a spice garden and a batik factory before checking in at your hotel. In the evening, watch a Kandyan dance performance. Afterward, visit the Temple of the Tooth, home of the sacred Buddhist tooth relic.
Duration: 4 hours

No meals included on this day.
Accommodation included: Over-night stay at Jasmine Hillhouse, Kandy (3star).

Day 2: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Stop At: Nuwara Eliya Golf Course, Nuwara Eliya, Central Province
Begin the following day with breakfast before setting out on a Kandy city tour. Stop by the Royal Botanical Gardens. Depart Kandy and visit a tea factory en-route to Nuwara Eliya. There, see a local golf course, Victoria Park, and Gregory Lake.
Duration: 4 hours

Meals included:

Accommodation included: Over-night stay at Thuruliya Lodge, Ramboda (3star).

Day 3: Nuwara Eliya - Tissamaharama

Stop At: Yala National Park, Sri Lanka
After breakfast in the morning, depart to Kataragama, visiting Ravana Waterfalls on the way. Check in at Peacock Reach before embarking on a jeep safari in Yala National Park. At the conclusion of the safari, return to your hotel.
Duration: 4 hours

Day 4: Tissamaharama - Colombo

Stop At: Colombo Fort, Colombo, Western Province
Head out the following morning for the Hambantota salt plains. Continue to Weligama and pause to gaze at the area’s stilt fishermen. Drive to Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that encompasses the colorful old city of Galle. Journey on to Colombo, and proceed on a Colombo city tour.
Duration: 4 hours

Day 5: Colombo - Airport

Pass By: Colombo Airport Transfer, Colombo, Western Province

A good introduction to this beautiful country. Overall we had a great trip and it is certainly worth doing for people pushed for time to organise everything yourself.
Decent air conditioned vehicle and a private driver were good, though he was polite and friendly he had very limited English which did impact our enjoyment/knowledge somewhat.
Hotels were fine for the amount of time spent there for the most part. The weakest link definitely being the Devon Hotel in Kandy.
Be prepared to spend significantly more than the upfront cost of the tour. I would request there is better guidance on additional costs/tipping as we felt unprepared.
Some things were very rushed or merely a drive past i.e. the lakes and golf course and most disappointingly the stilt fishermen. Whereas other things we happily would have missed - a day of tours of a batik factory, wood carving shop, gem shop and spice garden was a bit intense as there were some pushy salespeople and everyone was after a tip.
I would recommend this as an easy way to see some of the main sights, but would suggest you research costs and whether there are things you wish to add in/remove from the scheduled itinerary better than we did and then be vocal with your driver.
