There was a mix up on the time. The hotel reception advised that the vehicle would arrive at 8:00 but the vehicle arrived just before 8:30. On the way to the airport the guide asked me where I was heading to. After I answered him he then turned to my wife, who is Thai, and asked her where she was off to. Besides the old cliche, Thai woman with foreign man, this guide should have known that the booking was made in two names, both with the same surname. Although, after 30 years of marriage we are used to this type of simple minded comment but it would be good for my wife to receive an apology.
