After morning pickup from your selected hotel in Krabi, arrive at the pier for a kayaking demonstration by your experienced guide. After an introduction to paddling strokes and some route orientation, get settled in your kayak and glide onto the emerald-green waters of Ao Thalane.

Your first kayak session takes you through the heart of a mangrove forest teeming with wildlife and unique scenery. Wind through shaded waterways and limestone canyons formed by towering karsts, where you’ll find myriad fish, birds, monitor lizards and mudskippers. Be on the lookout for river otters, as well as langurs and long-tailed macaques foraging for fruit and tiny crabs along the shore.

After a couple of hours, paddle back to the kayak camp for a Thai set lunch on shore. With your hunger satisfied, you’ll start your second 2-hour session in the afternoon. Gaze up at sheer rock lathered in lush, green foliage, and stop for plenty of photo ops including picturesque beaches along the coastline. Throughout the day, enjoy allotted free time for swimming (depending on how quickly the group reaches each paddling destination).

When your full-day tour ends, kayak back to camp with your guide and then transfer to your hotel by late afternoon.

The sights are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. None of the pictures you will see will do it justice. The pickup/dropoff process from my Ao Nang resort was smooth. The only downside is that the kayaks may be cramped and get uncomfortable after a few hours for people who are over 6 feet tall.

Great trip winding through the mangrove forests an under the cliff overhangs. Also great meal afterwards. Only problem was leg cramping.
