This tour combines a tour of the iconic Stonehenge with a visit to two other fascinating pre-historic sites in the area: Avebury and the West Kennet Long Barrow - giving you a great experience of pre-historic Britain. At Avebury we will visit the world's largest stone circle where, unlike Stonehenge, we are able to walk among the ancient stones and touch them. This stone circle was built at a similar time to Stonehenge but is likely to have been used for different purposes. The West Kennet Long Barrow is much older than the stone circles and is one of the country's best examples of a pre-historic communal tomb. During the day we will stop for lunch at a charming British pub.This is a private tour allowing you to enjoy visiting these sites at your own pace, with your own personal guide and to have the comfort of a private vehicle.
