I'm giving this tour a 1 based on the other group saying it was good. But my group? Ouch.
Our guide showed up 10-15min late the other guide was early and prepared in his shirt and headset/ microphone. She was just flustered and unprepared for the entire tour. We get started, with the other group having to wait for us to finish the first stop shop is very small and they needed to stagger two groups of 15 ea/ 30 pp total. I can't really speak to how good the chocolate was I don't have a sweet tooth or like chocolate but others seemed to enjoy it. I appreciate how they use local ingredients and made the chocolate onsite.
We went on to an Italian restaurant that was very solid. The guide then asked someone for the time as her phone died and she didn't know what time it was any more. Ok, this is going down hill it gets worse. Luckily the food was good.
Next was Rocket Cafe which I've been to for breakfast and it's delightful.....except the guide gets the timing wrong and we're 5min early so they're not ready for us. We have to wait on the side walk and mill around until they have a table cleared off. The cod cakes are delicious, the owner gives a short talk about the history the cafe and what they try to do there.

We finish up and head to Yellow Belly across the street for pizza and beer. AND AGAIN, the timing is off and we asked to wait 20min not kidding on the sidewalk outside before they're ready for us. When we do get in, I notice there's plenty of room at the main bar and we could have gone in for a pint on our own to start before being gathered to head up stairs. The pizza is pretty boring, nothing special, but the beer is fantastic Irish red ale in particular!

We head out, and we're still early, because she's clearly just marching us to each stop rather than telling us about the history or points of interests in St. John. How do I know?
There's a statue across from Yellow Belly, apparently a pretty well known one? And she say, hmmm, I don't know about this one. Since most of you are from St. John, do any of you know about this statue? Can you share?

I knew we were headed to O'Reilly's, which is just around the corner, so I headed there with some others from the tour as many of us were over the guide and what she was offering. Everyone in my group felt bad that I had paid full price for the tour they were from a work group and had discounted tickets. A few took me under their wing and took me to Michaels to get Screeched-In. That was the highlight of my day....which tells you something about this tour.

O'Reilly's had some traditional Irish music played by some young silliness. Good, and very sweet. Very good beers on tap, and they served turkey meatballs. I don't eat meat so I can't offer details but the others found them decent.
The best part was when the other group joined us and we compared notes and figured out how awesomely bad ours was....it honestly at that point was comical how off the rails this tour was:
late
phone died
didn't know what time it was the ENTIRE tour
couldn't keep the tour on time at the right pace
didn't offer anything of substance regarding history of the city

Over she came across as unprepared, inexperienced and flustered. I'd say it's a good tour but? I've actually never had a worse one. I'll give the company the benefit of the doubt as the other group said how much they enjoyed the tours, found him funny, informative and kept to time.
