What a wonderful trip! We really enjoyed the day-long adventure out of Addis Ababa into the nearby countryside to the Wenchi Crater Lake. Our guide Tesfa was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much about the country and the culture of Ethiopia. The trip was supposed to be 8 hours but ended up being about 10 hours because of the traffic getting in and out of Addis. and as a result there was not enough time for us to actually make the journey, on foot or mule, to the lake itself. But we certainly enjoyed the breath taking views from a top the hills and the opportunity to see some of the country side on our journey.
