We had a very enjoyable day with Carla! She is pleasant, funny, knowledgeable, patient and a bonus was her picking oranges for us at the winery. This is a full day tour with a fairly long but manageable drive. The group size of 8 was ideal and we were fortunate to be with an interesting group. The tastings, lunch and time on the river were all positive experiences in beautiful locations. On the way back, we experienced a torrential downpour with a bit of ice on the road. Carla handled it masterfully. If that had been the weather on the way to the valley, I know it would not have been pleasant (frightening even!) given the winding roads.

This day was a real treat!
The boat ride was nice but the visit to the two vineyards made the day. We enjoyed an informative tour from a lovely young woman at the first quinta and had a tour and fabulous lunch at the second. The enthusiasm of everyone working in both was delightful.
A review would not be complete without acknowledging our guide, Filipe. He communicated in advance to confirm our pick up location and arrived promptly. He was also enthusiastic and funny. It is clear he has a great relationship with everyone involved in parts of the tour which made our day especially pleasant.

This was an awesome day and worth every penny. We visited two different Wine/ Port farms and had a gourmet lunch at an awesome villa. Book it you will enjoy your day.

Great value for money. Paulo very charismatic and informative guide. Made the day very enjoyable. Visited two vineyards and experienced Port tasting and learnt a lot about process and the history of Port. The Douro valley is beautiful to travel through. The lunch was superb and the cruise down the river rounded the experience off brilliantly. A great one day tour filled with highlights. Excellent!

My husband and I went on the Douro Valley Tour and had an absolutely amazing time. Our guide, Carla, was fun, funny and very informative. Our group had a lovely lunch at the last winery. We all remarked that it was a far better and far more substantial lunch than any of us had had in other wine tours. The scenery was unbelievable. The drive and boat tour alone were worth the price. And the wines were wonderful. It was really great to be able to experience smaller producers that were not readily available in Porto:). I highly recommend this tour to anyone thinking of taking a trip along the Douro, or wanting to experience a day outside of Porto.

Sara picked us up from our accommodation and was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We drove to the first vineyard which had the most beautiful views! The stand out for me was the lunch though, it’s not very often (in my experience on many wine tours) that the inclusive lunch is as great as this was! Basically 4 courses! The port we tasted was lovely and we bought a bottle to drink on the rest of our trip :) highly recommended this tour.

The Douro Valley day trip is a great way to see this incredible area in a short time. Our guide Sergio picked us up at our hotel. He was very knowledgable and provided interesting commentary along the route. The winery tour was interesting and informative and the port was good too! The one hour boat trip on the Douro was just long enough to take in the beautiful scenery along the river with more port. Our lunch on a deck overlooking the vineyards was incredible, great food and wine. More port tasting in the winery made for a quiet drive back to our Porto hotel! Would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the subject and area. The addition of the boat ride was wonderful. The lunch was as good as we have had in top rated restaurants. The views are spectacular and the wines and ports were great.

Our day in the Douro valley, and cruising the Douro river, could not have gone better. Ricardo, our guide/driver was prompt, friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. He brought us to several truly beautiful spots in the hills where we sampled some fine, small-production port wines. The tastings never felt like grudging or rote marketing of their products--rather it was master craftspeople eager to share their pride and knowledge. No pressure at all to buy anything. The lunch was really, really good in a hilltop winery with sweeping views. The leisurely river cruise was the perfect way to savor the after-effects of our many glasses of port, not too long, on water smooth as glass.
