The Paiva Walkaways were the winner of the World Travel Awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018!It is a 8 km boardwalk through ruggedly beautiful scenery in Arouca Geopark, a UNESCO Geological site. The hike is done in the morning to avoid crowds and high heat.The walk is easy and the stairway that go up and down the valley are stunning! Do not forget the camera!Time for a delicious traditional lunch in a typical Portuguese restaurant!Once in Aveiro, we begin our tour by appreciating the hand-painted tile panels on the walls of the old train station, to understand the city`s history.We`ll wander through the old quarter to see the main buildings of Art Nouveau, the fish market and taste one of city`s delicacies: soft-eggs!Finally, it’s time to board on a “moliceiro”  the traditional boats of the Aveiro canals  and get to know the city through its canals.Our tour finish at Costa Nova, the magnificent fishing village with its wooden houses in bright striped colours.
